By BookBaby author Lucy Briggs
Viv Oyolu joined our July Twitter chat to talk about audio book marketing strategies and share tips for podcasting more effectively.
For the July edition of our #BBchat Twitter chat, we asked radio presenter and author Viv Oyolu for her thoughts on how to use podcasting as a book marketing and promotion tool, including interview and strategy tips. We prefaced this month’s chat with some pointers to get the conversation started, as well as a brief biography of Viv, which you can check out here.
We frequently hear our friends in literary circles asking how to promote their books more effectively, and podcasting and podcast interviews often don’t become part of the conversation. Podcasting and promoting via podcast interview isn’t as difficult as many authors think. If you already have a blog set up, for example, one way to repurpose and get more value out of a podcast would be to transcribe the interview into a series of posts.
Viv offered tips on how to approach podcast hosts for interviews, as well as how to set up an account on SoundCloud. We hope you find them to be useful.

@Bookbaby It’s not as hard as authors think. If there’s a synergy btw what they want to talk abt, the book & listeners, it’s easier #bbchat
